All the seed potatoes listed are now available, as are the following onion sets and shallots;
Onions – Sturon and Red Baron
Shallots – Picasso and Yellow Moon
1st Early
Lady Christl
– Long oval tubers, yellow skin & light yellow flesh.
High yields but susceptible to blight.
Good resistance to scab.
2nd Early
Kestrel
– Oval, part coloured, blue eyed tubers.
Flesh pale yellow.
Drought resistant. Good
flavour.
Maincrop
Desiree
– An early maincrop with medium to large oval tubers and smooth
red/purple skin. Flesh pale
yellow, shallow/medium eyes.
Suitable for boiling, frying chipping.
Susceptible to scab, moderate resistance to blight.
Valour
– High yields of short oval tubers with uniform white skin.
Good overall disease resistance.
Good for late season bakers but poor fry colour.
Christmas Closure
Not surprisingly the Store will be closed on Christmas Eve
and New Year’s Eve which fall on Saturdays this year, but please join us
on Saturday 17th of December when there will be seasonal
refreshments available.
